The virtual language factory «Den lille språkfabrikken» is run by Imke Solvang — polyglot, language enthusiast, teacher and certified translator. With a wide range of experience in the world of language acquisition and translation, I produce translations and offer other language services such as subtitling, proofreading and private online language lessons. Languages have always fascinated me and I speak fluent German, English, Spanish, Norwegian and Russian. I have lived in Germany, Canada, Norway and Peru. What defines me as teacher and translator? A life-long love of learning, delight in new challenges and a penchant for the finer nuances of languages.
I studied Russian and Linguistics in Ottawa, Canada, and Pedagogy, German and Spanish in Bergen, Norway. I have taught languages at junior high, high school, evening school and university. I spent one year working as interpretor for German and Spanish in Bergen. In 2024 I passed the exam for certified translator (Norwegian to German) at NHH in Bergen.
